Autumn 2011 Photo Contest Winner Announced

Congratulations Anna for winning the Autumn 2011 Photo Contest!

Students stand in a circle holding hands in downtown Chicago.

"Roosevelt University is located in downtown Chicago, an amazingly beautiful city. From the windows of our university you can see the famous “Bean” like the locals call the Cloud Gate by Anish Kapoor. Grab a coffee between classes, sit under the cloud and enjoy the sun. Take some funny pictures and just have a blast of a time! It is just a perfect place to be!" Anna, (US University Attended: Roosevelt University from August 2011- December 2011, UK University: London Metropolitan University)

Fulbright’s Autumn 2011 Photo Contest invited students to capture American university life in photo form.  These contests are designed to promote US-UK exchange by allowing UK students to get an inside look at what it is like to study in the US.

The photo contest is now closed, but check back in the spring as we run contests throughout the year. If you enter, you could help encourage future UK students to study in the US while having the chance to win £10Graduates Throwing Caps0!

The US-UK Fulbright Commission, Education USA and the US Embassy in London hosted a photo contest as part of their effort to promote US-UK exchange. We asked you to show us what American college life looks like on your campus. Information about the contest is below.

Can you capture what US university life is like in one picture?

Is it a photo of class, friends, studying, sports, arts - all of the above? Be creative. Have fun. (Oh, and remember to keep it appropriate).

Prize: Beyond the satisfaction you will surely receive for supporting US-UK relations and helping a UK counterpart have a clearer understanding of US study, what else can you gain from this contest? Glad you asked - the winner of the contest will have their photo featured on the US-UK Fulbright Commission's website. The winner will also receive £100.

Eligibility: UK citizens who have completed or are currently completing a full university degree in the US, or any student who has studied in the US for a semester/year as part of a degree from a UK university, is eligible. Only one submission is permissible per person.

Only the submissions that have an accompanying completed publication consent form will be eligible. Entrants must be 18 years or older.

Deadline: IS NOW CLOSED. CHECK BACK IN THE SPRING!

How to submit your photo: Please either download a copy of the publication consent form or email advising@fulbright.co.uk, and request a publication consent form. When you make your submission, please email advising@fulbright.co.uk with your full name, the university you attended, the dates you attended, as well as the attached photo and completed publication consent form. In addition, please include a short description of what is happening in the picture to use as a caption on our website and Facebook page. (If you plan on returning the publication consent form via fax +44 (0)207 498 4023, please note this in your photo submission email.)
