The Fulbright Advisory Service aims to support UK teachers and careers advisors who work with students interested in US study. Read on for information about resources for your students, monthly email updates, training opportunities and resources for teacher and careers advisors.

 

Resources for Your Students:

The application process to US universities can seem challenging for students, parents and advisors alike. Our advising team is here to help! Don’t hesitate to refer your students to our comprehensive website on study in the US and the Fulbright Awards for postgraduate study and research. The Commission also hosts two annual study in the US events, USA College Day and USA Grad School Day Please note we have a special registration process for school groups if you are interested in arranging a trip to attend USA College Day. Schools may request more information by contacting the Fulbright Advisory Service.


The Advisory Service also hosts two-hour seminars on undergraduate and postgraduate study, as well as preparing for US study. Your students may also wish to take advantage of our Resource Library and outreach events.

 

Monthly Email Updates:

Each month our advising team sends emails to teachers and careers advisors. Emails include information on upcoming Commission events for you and your students, as well as helpful advising tips and resources created specifically for teachers and careers advisors. You may sign up for email updates by registering on our website.

 

Training Opportunities:

The Fulbright advising team offers training sessions for UK teachers and careers advisors on undergraduate study and postgraduate study in the US. Sessions include information on the US higher education system, funding for US study, choosing a university, the application process and timeline and the role of advisors in this process. Attendees will learn about resources provided by the Commission and receive reference materials developed by our staff on admissions exams, the application timeline and preparing transcripts and references.

 

Resources for Teachers and Careers Advisors:

The Fulbright Advisory Service publishes several handouts for teachers and careers advisors. We hope these will provide helpful tips and advice as you work with students applying for US study.
