Right in the heart of a vibrant student city,
Nottingham Trent University has approximately 24,000 students and is the top new university in the UK according to the latest Good University Guide.
It has built an enviable reputation for nurturing well-rounded, confident and ambitious graduates fully equipped to succeed in their chosen profession and to make a significant contribution to society.
The university is one of the top UK universities for employability with more than 97% of its students in employment or further study six months after graduating. The outstanding graduate employment rates and work placement opportunities are supported by the university’s versatile course portfolio and its powerful links with more than 6,000 employers from business, industry and the professions.
As a leading new university, Nottingham Trent University provides students with first-class learning and teaching facilities and since 2004 has invested £130 million across its three campuses to create an inspiring learning environment. The centrepiece of this investment is the transformation of its Grade II* listed Newton and Arkwight buildings, to create one of the UK’s finest city centre campuses. The redevelopment is expected to be opened later this year (2009).
The university runs its own bi-annual student satisfaction survey, which is the basis for wide-ranging improvements right across the institution. The findings have led, for instance, to the UK’s largest student Welcome Week; better inter-campus transport links; upgraded study areas; enhanced assessment feedback; more work-based learning options; and greater opportunities for student volunteering in the community.
These efforts were reflected in the results of the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey, which rated Nottingham Trent University as one of the top ten post-1992 universities in the UK.
