Newcastle University can trace its origins to a School of Medicine and Surgery, established in Newcastle in 1834, and is a member of the elite Russell Group, an association of leading research-intensive UK universities. Newcastle upon Tyne is a major city in the North East of England, which has been voted the friendliest and most user-friendly city in Britain and our campus is located within a short walk of the city centre.
