Special Programmes
The US-UK Fulbright Commission offers a variety of Special Programmes for UK citizens to go to the US. These summer programmes are extremely varied and provide opportunities for UK students, teachers and university lecturers to go to the US in a unique setting, on four to six week summer programmes.
There are four Special Programmes for students, according to subject area:
- Summer Institute for Students (any subject, A-Level and undergraduate level)
- Summer Institute for Education Students (undergraduate level)
- Summer Institute on Climate Change and Sustainability (undergraduate level)
- American Studies Summer Institute (PhD candidates)
The Special Programmes will cover all participant costs. This includes round-trip airfare from the UK to the US (on a US airline), tuition and fees at the host university, accommodation and meals, a small daily allowance, health and accident insurance, a small book allowance and visa processing and participation in a number of Fulbright Scholar events.
