The British Schools and Universities Foundation, Inc. (BSUF) co-sponsors one UK Postgraduate Student Award each year. The award will be offered to one candidate that demonstrates a commitment to the wider community and who has the potential to make a significant contribution to society. The award is not limited to particular disciplines and can be made for students across the academic spectrum, although students seeking professional degrees – MBA’s, JD’s and MD’s – will not be considered. Preference will be given to a candidate whose chosen academic programme is not readily available in the UK.
There is no separate application process for this award. The Fulbright Commission will submit the names of appropriate candidates for BSUF to consider. The BSUF funds will complement those awarded by the US-UK Fulbright Commission.
The British Schools and Universities Foundation, Inc. was founded in 1961 and has been approved as a tax-exempt charitable organization by both the Internal Revenue Service and the State of New York. A commitment to volunteerism is central to the BSUF mission. Since its foundation BSUF has given grants totaling more than $20,000,000.
