English Language Test

International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
IELTS is designed to assess the English language ability of people who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication. Over 1,200 U.S. universities and colleges accept IELTS as proof of English language proficiency of non-native English speakers as part of the application process into any undergraduate, postgraduate or professional degree. Information on test preparation, global list of test centers and list of US universities and colleges accepting IELTS scores is available at www.ielts.org.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
Many US universities require that non-native English speakers take the TOEFL as part of the application process into any undergraduate, postgraduate, or professional degree. Non-native English speakers who have completed a number of years in the British education system may be exempt from taking the TOEFL, but will need confirmation from each US university.
