Take the Standardised Test(s)
10-12 months before beginning your study
If your prospective US university requires standardised test scores, you can collect test registration forms and information from the EAS. Now is the time to register for any of the following tests:

GRE (Graduate Record Exam): generally required for applicants to humanities, arts & sciences courses. There are two types of test: the General Test, and Subject Tests. Find out which are required.
To register for the test visit www.gre.org. To purchase official test materials click here.

GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test): generally required for applicants to management courses. Please refer to our MBA handout for further GMAT information.
To register for the test visit www.gmat.org. To purchase official test materials click here.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): generally required for applicants who have not studied at an English-speaking university. To register for the test visit www.toefl.org.

Ensure that your scores reach the universities before their application deadlines. Most admission tests have a facility that allows you to enter the institution codes at the end of the test and the test administrator will then automatically send your scores to your chosen universities. Allow a minimum of four weeks from the test date for the scores to reach your chosen institution(s).
