Undergraduate in the UK
The following colleges and universities offer United
States Associate (AA)'s or Bachelor (BA)'s degree
programmes in the United Kingdom. The subjects offered
vary from general liberal arts (traditional arts and
humanities disciplines) to business-related subjects.
Please note that the years at an American college
are described as Freshman (first), Sophomore (second),
Junior (third) and Senior (fourth).
All fees are for 2002 - 2003. A sample prospectus
may be available for reference use in the US Educational
Advisory Service library. Contact the institutions
directly for a copy of their prospectus and/or further
information.
PLEASE NOTE: Inclusion
on this list does not imply approval or recognition;
it is for information purposes only. Descriptions
are provided by the institutions themselves.
If, at a later date, you plan to transfer from one
of the following institutions to another US college/university,
contact the second institution to investigate whether
credits from the first college will be acceptable.
Universities and colleges are free to make their own
decisions when granting credit for courses taken at
other institutions.
Accreditation
When considering applying to a US university or college
it should be borne in mind that, with few exceptions,
US and UK universities and colleges will only recognise
degrees earned at US institutions which are regionally
accredited. Other types of US institutional accreditation
are unlikely to be recognised. Employers may also
have policies as to which US universities they will
recognise.
All the institutions listed below are either: a US
institution with regional accreditation in the US;
the overseas campus of a US institution which is accredited
by a regional accrediting body in the US; or have
an agreement to offer in the UK degree programmes
awarded by a US regionally accredited institution.
Choosing a University

in the US expands on the topics discussed in our Beginner's
Guide and is must-read for anyone wanting to study
in the US. To receive the booklet, post us a cheque
for £4.50 made payable to The Fulbright Commission
with a note asking for Undergraduate Study in the
