PLEASE NOTE: inclusion on this list does not imply approval or recognition; it is for information purposes only. The descriptions of the universities are provided by the institutions themselves.

Accreditation

There are two significant types of accreditation for US universities and colleges: institutional accreditation by regional accrediting bodies; and professional accreditation by national professional accrediting bodies for schools and departments within an institution, for example business or engineering schools.

When considering applying to a US university or college it should be borne in mind that, with few exceptions, US and UK universities and colleges will only recognise degrees earned at US institutions which are regionally accredited. Other types of US institutional accreditation are unlikely to be recognised. Employers may also have policies as to which US universities they will recognise. Those considering a professional degree programme should also check the accreditation status of the school(s) they will be applying to with the relevant professional accrediting body in the US and their home country.

All the institutions listed below are either a US institution with regional accreditation in the US; the overseas campus of a US institution which is accredited by a regional accrediting body in the US; or have an agreement to offer in the UK degree programmes awarded by a US regionally accredited institution.
