
Sarah Campbell was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and earned her BA with distinction and MBA from Stanford University. After working in the business world, she returned to academics, receiving an MA from the University of Michigan and her doctorate from the Catholic University of America in English Language and Literature. She has been teaching writing at Boston University for the past twelve years. Her area of study is in medieval drama and performance, particularly dramatic texts written in Latin, Middle English, and Early Modern Welsh. She has pursued the study of the Welsh language at Lampeter in Wales and at regular week-long summer courses offered by Cymdeithas Madog, the Welsh Studies Institute in North-America. For the past eight years, Sarah has been a board member of this organization. Sarah has also written numerous articles for the North American Welsh newspaper, Ninnau. Sarah enjoys reading and writing, hiking and travelling, and sharing time with family and friends. She has three adult children and three grandchildren. Sarah’s Fulbright project will be working with scholars of medieval and early-modern Welsh literature at the School of Welsh, Cardiff University to prepare for publication a dual language (Welsh and English) edition of a significant medieval Welsh play.
