Fulbright Project: Lecturing and Research in Political Science, University of Sussex

Robin Kolodny, an Associate Professor of Political Science at Temple University spent her Fulbright year at the University of Sussex, researching and lecturing. Her research project concerned the changing nature of political party organization, campaigning and staffing in new and emerging European democracies.

Robin gave many lectures and interviews on the US government and elections, in such locations as the University of Manchester and the University of Macedonia in Greece. She also gave multiple press interviews on 2008 US Presidential election night at the US Embassy in London, as well as a piece for BBC Southern Counties radio.

In her own words:

‘I feel very fortunate to have selected the community of Lewes to live in with my family.  It seems like I run a service there very similar to what I did on the BBC radio show -- explain and interpret US events for the parents of the children at our school and in the community at large. It is a friendly town full of film series and poetry readings, and I find I am often speaking about American politics in response to questions asked of me.’
