Fulbright Project: Studying the prevention and methods of intervention for youth violence, London Metropolitan Police

Renee J. Mitchell was born and resides in Sacramento, California. She has worked for the Sacramento Police Department for the last eleven years and is currently a Police Sergeant in the Youth Services Division. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of
California, Davis, a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the University of San Francisco, a Master of Business Administration from the California State University, Sacramento and a Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where she was awarded an academic scholarship. She is a member of both the American Bar Association and the California Bar Association. She enjoys white-water kayaking, snowboarding, hiking, and travelling. As a Fulbright Police Research Scholar, she will study the prevention and methods of intervention for youth violence with the London Metropolitan Police Department in England.
