He then moved to the University Carlos III of Madrid before landing at Oxford where he is now Reader in Accounting and fellow of Christ Church. Paolo has hold visiting appointments at the universities of Kyoto, Siena, Oxford, L. Bocconi (Milan) and most recently at IE business school in Madrid. Combining insights and methodologies from the humanities and social sciences, his research spans from the history of administrative and control practices in religious Orders to information and management control technologies in large organisations. Most of Paolo’s recent research explores the impact that managerialisation attempts are having on higher education institutions. As Fulbright New Century Scholar, Paolo will explore the role of business schools and business education in shaping interactions between higher education institutions, the economy and society, and with what results.
