
Dr Vatish undertook pre-clinical studies and an intercalated B.A. in Physiology at Oxford University. His work on “Ion Transport across the Human Placenta” was awarded a D.Phil in 1992. During clinical training at Cambridge University, Dr Vatish was appointed Clinical Lecturer at the University of Warwick. He is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists. He was appointed Senior Lecturer and Consultant at Warwick Medical School. Dr Vatish specialises in high risk pregnancies and leads a basic science obstetrics research group which investigates the underlying biology of obstetric disorders. He has, since last year, been Clinical Director for Obstetrics & Gynaecology and utilised his Fulbright award to research mechanisms of placental formation and identify the key defects underlying obstetric disease.
