Fulbright Project: Writing for percussion, Royal College of Music
Jennifer Torrence earned her Bachelor's degree in percussion performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Throughout her studies, Jennifer has dedicated her developing performance career to contemporary music. She has worked with legendary musical figures
such as Pierre Boulez and Jonathan Harvey and has given premieres of works such as Unsuk Chin's Doppel Konzert and the Pulitzer Prizewinning composition, Double Sextet, by Steve Reich. During her Fulbright year, Jennifer will study at the Royal College of Music. She will investigate and encourage writing for percussion in the UK through collaborations with established and emerging composers and performers.
