Eric Sandweiss is Carmony Chair and Associate Professor of History at Indiana University (IU), as well as the editor of a quarterly scholarly journal, the Indiana Magazine of History. He has worked in the fields of city planning, historic preservation and, just before arriving at IU in 2002, historical museums. Sandweiss’ research focuses on two primary subjects: the vernacular urban landscape and the public contexts of historical thinking. For his Fulbrighter project, those areas converge, as he examines the history and contemporary challenges facing city museums in the UK and Europe.
