
Annmarie Ford was born in Glasgow, Scotland. She attended Glasgow University where she received a M.A. Honours in Philosophy. Her studies also involved English, Scottish and Slavonic Literature. After graduating from university she spent two years working and travelling in New Zealand and Australia before completing a PGDE (Post Graduate Diploma in Education) from Strathclyde University. She now teaches English in a Glasgow secondary school. She is a firm believer in supporting Fair Trade and works to promote this both to the students in her school and members of the local community. By participating in the Fulbright programme, she hopes to enhance her students’ understanding and knowledge of American literature by enabling them to gain a deeper awareness of American history and culture.
