Alexander Rees

Fulbright Project: Masters Degree in Magazine Writing, New York University
Alex graduated from the London College of Fashion with a First in Surface Textile Design as part of the renowned Fashion Design Technology programme. His dissertation investigated the issues surrounding contemporary youth cultures & fashion markets. He has worked extensively with children & young people as a teaching assistant, mentor and play-worker. Throughout university he also spent his summers working as an arts-focused camp counsellor at a residential camp in Waterford, Maine. He was runner-up in the 2007 Vogue Talent Competition and has since worked with numerous Conde Nast publications. Alex volunteers with the London Lesbian & Gay Switchboard; when not occupied creatively his other interests include pervasive gaming, swimming and racquet sports, baking and playing bingo. As a Fulbright Scholar Alex will pursue a Masters Degree in Magazine Writing within the journalism department of the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, New York University.
